PLATFORM SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT

Verotis is seeking a Platform Solutions Engineer to fill a critical position in supporting the Ground Enterprise Directorate (GED), responsible for the acquisition of systems over the complete end-to-end life cycle.

Physical Requirements:

Qualified candidates will need to have the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., be able to move/traverse throughout work facility, and communicate frequently with co-workers.

Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Facilitate creation of solution epics and program epics that will become the roadmap

  • Communicate organizational priorities to the development team

  • Quickly identify and develop innovative solutions to technological and environmental blockers to ensure continued progress

  • Ensure consistent participation from value contributors throughout the stakeholder spectrum 

  • Facilitates the large solution-level events (Cross SPO IPTs) and monitors the solution development and solution health via appropriate metrics

  • Optimize pre-increment planning and iterative integration demos and tests via Agile software development best practices.

  • Champions and/or assists with program epic development for continuous groom with vendor(s)

  • Collaborate with Contracts Officer Technical Representative (COTR) / Group Chief for each solution and subsequent program epics to define capabilities

  • Collaboratively defines the technology and architecture that connects the solution across the platform

  • Works with the System Architect/Engineering team to help guide their portion of the solution’s design

You will work side-by-side with the other program staff comprised of System Engineers, Acquisition Engineers and Domain Experts to lead the customer in modernizing their Ground Systems architecture. 

Qualifications:

This position requires an understanding of the intelligence community and customer domain, along with a strong focus on core systems engineering processes.

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph

  • Requires 10 to 12 years with BS/BA or 8 to 10 years with MS/MA

  • Experience leading a team of engineers and developers under a rigorous systems and  Software Engineering process in a mission critical environment

  • Experience identifying user needs and gaps, identifying potential solutions, and assessing/analyzing alternatives

  • Commitment to recognize, understand, respect and operate effectively within various SETA, FFRDC, and Government lines of authority

  • Strong representational, oral, and written communications skills, including the ability to produce clear, logical, and concise products

  • Experience with commercial Atlassian tools (e.g., Confluence, JIRA)

  • Must be flexible in a constantly changing business landscape

Strongly Desired Skills:

  • Working knowledge and thorough understanding of requirements management for NRO and NRO programs

  • Intelligence Community (IC) and/or Department of Defense (DoD) experience working with Acquisition Offices as System Engineer and Technical Advisory (SETA) and/or System Engineer and Integration (SE&I)

  • Experience with agile software development desired (e.g., Scrum Master, SAFe Agile)

  • Experience with cloud computing technologies (e.g., AWS cloud services) and emerging trends
